Week 4 EOC: Farrah Gray

5-24 Farrah Gray is a master of integrated promotion. List the promotional methods he has used and why he may have selected each.

Seeing as he just sold product at a young age in a tough part of Chicago, the only promotion method I could think of is his young age, "Publicity, sometimes referred to as public relations (PR) is defined by the Institute of Public Relations as “the planned and sustained effort to establish and maintain goodwill and mutual understanding between an organization and its public.” pg 179. People see that and think "aww what a cute little boy selling shampoo," or something like that.

5-25. What is the most interesting part of his story for you? Why?

The most interesting part is the fact that he started selling products at 6 years old and how he was already a millionaire by age 14. There's got to be a few laws broken there because of taxing, "If you sell products or services to the public, you will have to charge state sales tax in most states and then turn over the collected money, monthly or quarterly, to the proper agency" p305child labor and illegal selling of products, but if he can get away with it, I won't snitch.

5-26. The Farrah Gray Foundation serves as a vital part of Gray’s activities. Explain how it is important.

It's always important to have a foundation, it's something to lean back on when things fall through your fingers.

5-27. If you were going to meet with Farrah Gray, what would you want to discuss and why?

In the book, it talks about markets, and reading about Gray knowing his market, I'd like to discuss markets with him today, "business ideas will take hold or fail based largely on the market and industry environment in which they are launched. This segment of a feasibility analysis examines the attractiveness of the proposed industry and the opportunity to find strategic, defensible niches." p 37. and help what would be a great market for my business.
